G Allen Mercer cut his writers teeth penning articles for his university newspaper and writing copy for one of the South’s largest advertising agencies.

 

Allen left the glitz of the advertising world and followed a path into industrial sales, putting his writing on the back burner.  The dormancy did not last long!  Allen published his first novel, Justin Flowers and the Orb of Time in 2003.  The book is targeted at middle grade fiction lovers and was written as an outlet to the stories that he would spin to his children before bedtime.  Although successful with the novel, Allen decided to start his own industrial sales company, and once again shelved the urge to publish his works. 

 

In 2009 Allen’s faith was challenged as the ‘Great Recession’ forced his industrial company to close.  It was at this time that he felt called to write the fictional novel Underlying Grace (2014).

 

The Worst Case Scenario series and Collapsing World series of books were born out of Allen's joy for action adventure stories.  He enjoys the dystopian, post apocalyptic genre and has been blown away at the fan reaction to the two series of books.

 

Allen is married and has two children. He actively participates in the lay ministry of his church in Birmingham, AL and routinely helps his wife plan and leads mission trips to Central America.
